A week of intense practices following the only loss of the season paid off in a big way for the Oxford eighth-grade football team on Tuesday. A week after suffering a disappointing 14-12 loss to Lafayette, the Chargers blanked Grenada 36-0. When Lafayette and Oxford met on the baseball diamond at Edwin Moak Field, both the Chargers and Commodores had a more immediate reward in mind — playoff seeding.
