Sunday alcohol sales pass

The Oxford Board of Aldermen voted 6-1 to approve Sunday alcohol sales at its regular meeting Tuesday. The ordinance change will go into effect in 30 days and alcohol will be able to be sold in bars and restaurants from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (February 18, 2014, Page 1, 10)

Paid parking rules reviewed

The Downtown Parking Commission reviewed parking laws and made some changes that will go into effect, if approved by the Board of Aldermen, this summer when a new paid-parking system is rolled out. One change included the time of the enforcement. Commissioners agreed that paid parking should be enforced 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday. (February 10, 2014, Page 1)
