Rebecca Alexander, the publisher of Summerville Communications Inc. and 11-year veteran of its parent company, Evening Post Industries, has been named publisher of Oxford Newsmedia, LLC, Batesville Newsmedia, LLC and related products including The Panolian in Batesville, The Oxford Eagle and Oxford Magazine.  

Alexander began her career with Evening Post Industries as the internet director in Salisbury, North Carolina, before transitioning to the position of senior director of interactive sales for the company’s community group of newspapers.

She is a top-level publishing and marketing professional and will do an excellent job as she simultaneously becomes a contributor to the communities we serve.” 

“I am excited to lead a community newspaper team as our industry changes,” Alexander said. “It’s probably the most exciting time to make a difference. Also, going to the Oxford and Batesville area of Mississippi is going home. My husband and I are both from the Mid-South area, and we are looking forward to being close to family and long-time friends.” 

Alexander will begin her work in Oxford and Batesville later this month.
