One charged in shooting incident

An Oxford man has been arrested for allegedly shooting at a car at the Shell gas station on Highway 6.

Kevin Dunn, 24, was charged with aggravated assault.

Officers were dispatched to the Shell station in reference to shots being fired. Two cars were involved and shots were fired at or from both vehicles, according to the report. No one was injured. (January 26, 2011, Page 2)

Police nab alleged panty pirate

The panty thief who has been rummaging through Oxford women’s drawers and stealing their unmentionables has been taken into custody, according to the Oxford Police Department.

The suspect, whose name has not been released as of this morning, has allegedly broken into 12 homes in the city and two in the county since June, each time taking lingerie and panties from his victims. (October 4, 2010, Page 1A)

Increasing ways to communicate, increases ways to harass

Before cell phones, someone “crank calling” or “stalking” someone by calling their home phone over and over could get away with their identify easier before the invention of things like caller ID, phone tracking and voice mail and texting where the proof of the harassment is often recorded.
