After completing the indoor season in Seattle 10 days ago, the No. 13 Ole Miss men’s tennis team turned their focus towards the outdoor season Wednesday when they hosted the Memphis Tigers. Conditions were not favorable, but after some early struggles, the Rebels managed to pull out a 4-2 win at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
The Ole Miss men’s tennis team will begin their 2013 season this weekend at home when they host the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Kick-Off Weekend at the Gillom Sports Center. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team is ranked 13th and the women’s team is ranked 18th in the ITA preseason rankings. Several individual players are ranked in singles and doubles for the teams, which open their season later this month. (January 4, 2013, Page 8A)

And boy was it worth it.
On Thursday, Ole Miss freshman Nik Scholtz made his highly-anticipated debut in front of a near capacity crowd at the Gillom Sports Center.
