Second half swoon sets back Chargers

It was a tale of two halves for the Oxford Chargers in their final game of the Mississippi-Alabama Challenge on Saturday night in the OHS gym. In the first half against the LaFayette Bulldogs, OHS coach Drew Tyler saw his team be patient on offense and mix in defenses in order to slow the Bulldogs.

Adamson’s consistent leadership paves season for Oxford

Oxford’s reversal of fortune on the gridiron this season was a result of many different players. Chargers pass their way to win

A 15-0 run to start the game and much better passing as a team led the Oxford Chargers to a 61-46 win over Charleston in the OHS gym Tuesday night.

Oxford coach Drew Tyler liked the way his team played more unselfishly in the win. Justin Hill, who led the Chargers with 11 points, was one of the players Tyler singled out for his leadership and effort. He also thought David Dennis played his best game of the season. Dennis finished with eight points and was one of 11 players to score in the contest that Oxford led 23-10 at the end of the first quarter and 37-24 at the half. (December 5, 2012, Page 6)

Jackets stop OHS short of goal

STARKVILLE — Oxford’s goal of matching up with West Point in the MHSAA Class 5A North Half title game next week was derailed Friday night.
