Oxford’s boys soccer team isn’t having much trouble finding the back of the net these days. The Chargers scored less than eight minutes in, added five more along the way and cruised to a 6-0 win over Pontotoc on Monday afternoon in their home opener at Bobby Holcomb Field. The Chargers (4-2) have won their last three matches by a combined 18-0. The Lady Chargers defeated Pontotoc 3-0 earlier in the day. (November 25, 2014, Page 6)

The Oxford Strikers, an Under 12 DII Challenge Soccer Team, won the March Madness DII Classic Soccer Tournament in Tupelo this past weekend. It was the first tournament victory for the Strikers since the formation of the team in 2007. Oxford won its pool by defeating New Albany 3-1, Amory 4-0 and Columbus 3-0.
