No, that wasn’t a UFO caught on video near the International Space Station last week and NASA didn’t cut off the video in attempt to hide a UFO.

That’s what the agency says in response to a Internet furor over reports that a UFO was caught on video on July 9, 2016 near the ISS and that the video was cut off prematurely on purpose. You can see the video at the end of this story.

“No ‘UFOs’ in the popular sense have been seen from the ISS,” NASA Headquarters spokeswoman Cheryl Warner told AL.com.

The news agency made inquiry about the video taken from the space station on July 9 that showed a bright light descending toward Earth. The video feed apparently stopped just as the object appeared to enter the atmosphere.

“Reflections from station windows, the spacecraft structure itself or lights from Earth commonly appear as artifacts in photos and videos from the orbiting laboratory,” Warner said.

The video was posted on YouTube by osted by a UFO spotter called “Streetcap1.”

“This could well be a meteor or the like,” Streetcap1 said in the YouTtube post. “What made it interesting was the camera cut off when the ufo seemed to stop.”
