Rebels overcome plenty of pitfalls to make The Dance
Even in the midst of a wild celebration, Andy Kennedy strongly disagreed with his star players. Reginald Buckner, Murphy Holloway, Nick Williams and Marshall Henderson repeatedly told the media over the course of their three days at the SEC Tournament that Ole Miss’ five-game winning streak en route to their first SEC title since 1981 was a direct response to the Rebels’ awful, thought-to-be-season-ending loss at Mississippi State.

Ole Miss’ final push to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002 is down to a single game — or two, or three, depending on how it plays — starting tonight in the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Rebs top ‘Bama, keep hopes alive
Andy Kennedy’s goal of earning a bye for his Ole Miss Rebels in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament became more of a reality Tuesday night with an 87-83 win over Alabama. While the ending at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum wasn’t ideal — Alabama hit six 3-pointers in the final 1:55 to cut a double-digit lead down to four — the Rebels played much better than they did last Saturday at Mississippi State to earn the win. STARKVILLE — Ole Miss’ goal of winning out in the regular season in the hopes of securing an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament was dealt a severe, if not fatal, blow at the hands of an undermanned Mississippi State team Saturday afternoon.
