Legislators need to work this conflict out
There’s a new “R” word being thrown around that has folks up in arms – “redistricting.” State legislators cannot agree on new district lines for the state House and Senate, and now it appears some members of the House will be joining a lawsuit that could involve the Senate. Editor Don Whitten notes that legislators need to work this one out – and soon – or voters will take care of the problem in one or two upcoming elections. (March 23, 2011, Page 4)

Separation of church, state can get confusing
The Mississippi State Senate approves a chaplain. Judges out west rule that a cross at a park is unconstitutional. Where’s the separation of church and state and where is the middle ground. Staff Writer Alyssa Schnugg takes on the wide variety of responses to the issue and suggests that more clear-cut laws would help eliminate these “What?” moments of conflict.
