Nutt: This is my team, my responsiblity to fix
Ole Miss returned to the practice fields Tuesday, a day after head football coach Houston Nutt dealt with several questions about his future and how to fix problems associated with a 1-2 start.
Nutt’s opening remarks following Tuesday’s practice revolved around him taking responsibility for the problems of the team and re-iterating the point that he was the one to blame, not the Ole Miss administration. (September 21, 2011, Page 6)

Hard work is something all the Ole Miss football players have had to used to this offseason. For sophomore linebacker Mike Marry, putting in the hours to improve both physically and mentally doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Rebel seniors reflect on good memories
Saturday evening’s game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the annual “Egg Bowl” will be the final home contest for 18 Ole Miss seniors. The class, which includes safeties Johnny Brown and Fon Ingram, linebacker Jonathan Cornell, and Oxford native Zach Brent, helped changed the fortune of the program over the past few seasons with back-to-back trips to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
Two of the seniors who will honored before Saturday’s game, defensive tackle Jerrell Powe and defensive end Kentrell Lockett, could return next year, but for the majority of the class, the matchup with the Bulldogs will be the final time the group gets to put on the red and blue together. Rose shines for Rebels in victory
The value of a reliable kicker was never more evident than on Saturday when Ole Miss kicker Bryson Rose converted all five field goal attempts from distances of 24, 30, 30, 27 and 20 yards in the Rebels’ 43-21 win at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. (November 8, 2010, Page 1B)
Marry gets job done in place of Cornell
When Jonathan Cornell was sidelined due to a hip injury sustained a week ago against Auburn, the Ole Miss coaching staff turned to freshman Mike Marry to fill in for the senior.
On Saturday, all Marry did with his first career start at middle linebacker was lead the team in tackles. (November 8, 2010, Page 2B)
