Mavis Staples

Lies and Other Truths: Jim Dees remembers Levon

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Town columnist Jim Dees pays a moving tribute to the late Levon Helm – from his days with the Hawks to his migration to The Band to his casual solo career in a live setting in his “studio/barn” to his untimely death (losing a battle to cancer last month). Turn to Page 6 in Oxford Town No. 978 and check out Dees’ thoughts on a rock ‘n’ roll legend who left us much too quickly. (May 10, 2012, Page 6)
