It’s one thing to be a freshman and receive regular playing time, but it’s a completely different animal to receive sporadic pinch hit opportunities during your first season in the Southeastern Conference.
After coming to Ole Miss during the summer with a slugger’s reputation, freshman Sikes Orvis has been relegated to the latter role due in large part to some of the upperclassmen ahead of him on the depth chart, which is why what he accomplished Saturday is all the more special.
