Yarbrough announces he’s a Halo

Ole Miss junior second baseman Alex Yarbrough announced Tuesday via the social networking site Twitter that he has signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Four more Rebels drafted on final day

Three more Rebels and one potential Rebel were selected on the final day of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Wednesday.

Senior right-hander R.J. Hively was taken in the 19th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, junior outfielder Tanner Mathis was selected in the 27th round by the Houston Astros and senior outfielder Zach Kirksey was picked in Round 29 by the Detroit Tigers. (more…) (June 7, 2012, Page 4B)

Trio of Rebels drafted on Day 2

Monday didn’t provide the ending to the college season that Ole Miss was hoping for, but perhaps Tuesday’s news will supply a little solace for three Diamond Rebels.

Horned Frogs eliminate Rebels from postseason play

BLOG: Welp, this is it. Win, and the Rebels will be headed to UCLA for the Los Angeles Super Regional. Lose to TCU and Ole Miss will be headed home to Oxford.

First pitch for tonight’s must-win game is sets or 6:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Rebels rally to top Texas Christian University

BLOG: Good morning from Texas A&M’s Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas.

First pitch for today’s Game 1 matchup between second-seeded TCU and third-seeded Ole Miss is set for 12:35 p.m.

Former Tennessee Vol and major league player Chris Burke will be calling the game along side Ducis Rogers.

Three Rebels named to Coaches’ All-SEC teams

Rebels headed to Lone Star State

When the Ole Miss Rebels left Hoover, Ala., last week after a 1-2 showing in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, the coaches and players — at least publicly —believed their resume was strong enough to get them into the NCAA Tournament.

Monday, their instincts were re-affirmed when Ole Miss saw its name appear on the Road to Omaha announcement show as a three-seed in the College Station (Texas) Regional. (May 29, 2012, Page 8)

Offense fails Rebels in SEC opener

HOOVER, Ala. — A.J. Reed didn’t just do a little of everything for Kentucky on Tuesday.
The southpaw shut out Ole Miss for 5.1 innings in the opening game of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Regions Park.
And then, as if that wasn’t enough, the freshman also went 4-for-4 at the plate with three singles and a solo home run in the fourth inning that proved to be the difference in the 2-0 Kentucky victory. (May 23, 2012, Page 5A)

Loss leaves Rebels still searching for offense
