Rebels’ Poole making most of his opportunity

Given his first real chance, Jordan Poole didn’t disappoint.

After receiving five plate appearances through the first 30 games of the season, Poole, a freshman outfielder from Calhoun, Ga., was awarded his first start of the season on Friday against Georgia and made head coach Mike Bianco look like a smart guy. (more…) (April 11, 2011, Page 1B)

Wahl, Hively return to form in OM win

It was nice that Ole Miss claimed a 3-0 victory over Samford on Tuesday, but the victory wasn’t necessarily THE story line at Oxford-University Stadium.

That belonged to the healthy returns of R.J. Hively and Bobby Wahl, two pitchers who have been shelved due to elbow injuries since the first week of the season. (more…) (March 23, 2011, Page 6)

A pinch of scoring and the dominant pitching performances of Matt Crouse and Jake Morgan was all the Ole Miss Rebels needed on Friday to claim a 4-0 victory over the Alabama Tide at Oxford-University Stadium. (more…) (March 21, 2011, Page 2B)
