East is city’s new top cop

The Board of Aldermen has hired Joey East as the new chief of police for Oxford Police Department. East has almost 23 years in law enforcement and currently serves as assistant chief at OPD. (December 17, 2012, Page 1A)

Three finalists for OPD chief announced

The three top contenders for the Chief of Police at Oxford Police Department were announced this morning and are, current OPD Assistant Chief Joey East, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Scott Mills and Olive Branch Assistant Chief Mark Kimbell. The three will be interviewed on Friday by the Oxford Board of Aldermen. (December 13, 2012, Page 2)
