Davis, Pruitt claim first tennis title for Lafayette

Lafayette’s Mallory Davis and Barron Pruitt made history Tuesday as the duo captured the first individual state tennis championship in Jackson. The duo defeated Newton County’s Blake Cochran and Shannon St. Clarie 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 to win the match. Davis and Pruitt defeated Cole Morrow and Taylor Long of Purvis to advance on the first day.
