Lady Chargers claim home opener

The Lady Chargers volleyball squad got Oxford’s 2012-13 school year off to a good start Tuesday by sweeping the visiting Ripley Lady Tigers 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-14) at the OHS gym.

The performance was far from perfect, but for an OHS squad that returns just four members from the 2011 varsity squad, a win is a win. (August 8, 2012, Page 7)

Ross pleased with Lady Chargers’ effort

Oxford High volleyball coach Tara Ross knows she doesn’t have a bevy of tall girls on the front line or a roster filled with veterans like she did last year. What Ross does have is a group of Lady Chargers who all get along, who like to compete and so far, have shown the ability to absorb knowledge and get better with each practice. (August 2, 2012, Page 6)
