OHS swimmers set to give best shot at state

If anybody other than Tupelo wins this weekend’s MHSAA Class II state swim meet, something went wrong. Or maybe, just maybe, another team did enough right. That’s what Oxford’s hoping anyway. The Chargers’ boys and girls teams will travel to the heavy favorite’s home pool on Saturday to battle the Golden Wave and host of other schools at the Tupelo Aquatic Center for the right to be called the state’s best (October 31, 2014, Page 6A)

Oxford swimmers dominate opening meet of fall season

The Oxford High School swimming team got it’s 2014 season off to a successful start by sweeping Saturday’s OHS Invitational held at the Oxford City Pool. (September 7, 2014, Page 4B)

Chargers, Lady Chargers shine at meet

Oxford High’s swim teams got off to a successful start as both won first place at the DeSoto County Swim Meet Saturday. The Chargers and Lady Chargers combined to score 298 points, over 130 points more than second-place finisher Lewisburg with 162. Hernando (148), DeSoto Central (129) and Amory (87) rounded out the top five. A total of 11 schools competed in the meet.

The Chargers totaled 160 points, while the Lady Chargers with 138 points. Both squads had several first-place finishers. (September 17, 2012, Page 3B)
