Gibbs headed to ICC

Former Oxford Charger Luke Gibbs has decided to transfer to Itawamba Community College.

With several young infielders returning and an incoming signing class full of middle infielders, the redshirt freshman decided it was best he transfer in search of more playing time.

The Ole Miss baseball had a laundry list of who’s who being held out from this past weekend’s first intrasquad action.

Surprise appearance may turn into regular occurrence for Gibbs

COLUMN: Saturday evening the following line came across my Twitter feed: “L. Gibbs: W (1-0), 6.1 IP, ER, 2H, 2BB, 5K, 103 pitches.”

A brief text conversation ensued.

“Luke pitches?” I asked.

Oxford Chargers run-rule Senatobia

Oxford got off to a fast start Tuesday, run-ruling Senatobia 13-3 in five innings in the day’s third game.

Eight Chargers recorded hits in the game.

Chargers stay tough, take Classic

Oxford baseball coach Chris Baughman held a meeting with his team Wednesday about facing adversity and staying mentally tough.

OHS falls at Kossuth

The Oxford Chargers baseball team fell to 3-4 overall on the season after Kossuth earned a 5-2 victory on Tuesday.

Luke Gibbs scored one of the Chargers’ runs on a solo homer.

Oxford returns to action Thursday, hosting Lafayette at 7 p.m.

The game, which can be heard locally on 95.5 FM, was originally scheduled for Friday but was bumped up due to weather concerns. (March 7, 2012, Page 7)

Chargers cruise past Conquistadors

The Oxford Chargers improved to 3-1 on the year after earning an 11-0 victory at Olive Branch Thursday.
