Oxford teams head into Class 5A playoffs on roll
The conclusion of the regular season for the Chargers and Lady Chargers has left the two soccer programs feeling optimistic heading into the playoffs.

The Oxford soccer programs punctuated their seasons on Tuesday with convincing wins over divisional foe West Point.

Oxford’s girls soccer team earned its first win of the season over the weekend with a 2-1 triumph over Gautier. Oxford (1-5 overall) lost 2-0 to Warren Central and 2-1 to Northwest Rankin in the other two games. Oxford soccer coach wins top award
Laura Flint, the coach of the Under 12 Girls D2 soccer team, was recently named Coach of the Year for girls competitive soccer by the U.S. Youth Soccer Association. Flint, who is also the head coach of the Oxford High girls team, has helped the Oxford Extreme reach great heights during her tenure and she was rewarded with her leadership and dedication by the organization as the top coach in the state of Mississippi. Former Rebel tabbed to lead Oxford girls
A clear vision for the future of the Oxford High girls soccer program is just one of the many reasons Laura Flint was chosen as the Lady Chargers’ new coach. The former Ole Miss player, who was officially approved by the school board Monday night, possesses several qualities that OHS athletics officials think will help make a program that has consistently made the playoffs and won the Division 1-5A title last year.
