Boxx one of five Lady Rebels named All-SEC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Ole Miss women’s tennis team finished in the top four in the Southeastern Conference this year and five members of that team were named All-SEC Wednesday.

Senior Kristi Boxx became the second player in the history of the program to earn All-SEC first team honors all four years. The Grenada native finished 9-1 in the SEC in singles and 10-1 in doubles. She is currently ranked No. 10 in the nation in singles and No. 6 in doubles. (April 26, 2012, Page 6)

Ole Miss excited about hosting SEC Tournament

Oxford is known for being a tennis town and this weekend some of the best college teams in the women’s game will be at Ole Miss’ Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center for the Southeastern Conference Tournament. The four-day event begins Thursday with four matches. Ole Miss, the No. 4 seed in this year’s event, will play Friday at 3 p.m. against either No. 5 seed Vanderbilt or No. 12 seed Mississippi State.

Women netters rally to top SMU

Freshman Caroline Rohde-Moe came up big in just her second dual match for the Lady Rebels, clinching a come-from-behind 4-3 victory for the No. 17 Ole Miss women’s tennis team against No. 27 SMU in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Sunday at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
