Freeze sees more from Rebels after Tulane win
After watching film of Saturday’s 39-0 win over Tulane, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said his team actually got as close to playing a complete as it has all season. With the exception of three lost fumbles, Freeze seem to think his team did everything expected of them in all three phases.
That’s good news considering the now Rebels (3-1 overall) travel to play at No. 1 Alabama on Saturday night to open their Southeastern Conference schedule. (September 25, 2012, Page 6)
Rebels strike gold against UTEP
Prior to the season, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze was asked what his thoughts were on the Rebels playing host to perennial power Texas during Week 3.
Without skipping a beat, Freeze replied “Are we 2-0?”
As it turns out, the Rebels are.

Sawyer, Moore out extended period
Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said during Ole Miss’ media day on Friday that the team would have to be mindful of how physical they were in practice because they just didn’t have enough depth.
His words resonated Monday with the confirmation that sophomore receiver Collins Moore would be out with what could be a season-ending torn labrum, while junior defensive back Charles Sawyer will be out 4-6 weeks with a torn quad. (August 7, 2012, Page 6)
Mackey, Scott suspended for game with No. 1 LSU
Houston Nutt can’t catch a break.
Following Tuesday’s practice, the outgoing Ole Miss football coach confirmed that junior quarterback Randall Mackey, sophomore running back Jeff Scott and sophomore receiver Korvic Neat have been suspended for the LSU game on Saturday for violating team rules.
Nutt said there’s also a chance the trio could miss the Egg Bowl at Mississippi State next weekend. (November 16, 2011, Page 6)

Improvement on OL key moving forward
Improving the way the offense moves the ball and how the offensive line blocks is what Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt is looking to fix this week as the Rebels prepare for Southeastern Conference play. Ole Miss opens SEC play at Vanderbilt and Nutt said that while the line played better last week against Southern Illinois, things would have to improve against the Commodores. Rebel offense having to cope without RBs
For at least a couple of days, Ole Miss’ quarterback battle has taken a back seat thanks to the Rebels getting a little roughed up by Brigham Young.
Against the Cougars, Ole Miss’ depth at running back took a significant hit when All-Southeastern Conference senior Brandon Bolden and fellow veteran Enrique Davis went down with leg injuries.

Saturday’s loss could have lingering affects for the Ole Miss Rebels.
As if losing its season opener to BYU wasn’t bad enough, Ole Miss might be without its top two running backs for an extended period of time.
