For one mother, her 8-year-old son’s safety was the first thought after he was left on the bus in a parking lot and then walked into school on his own.

Test results show progress
Local schools, Lafayette County, Oxford and Water Valley school districts are well above the state percentage of passing scores in most testing areas. But all three districts along with all other districts in the state continue to struggle with reading scores. Statewide results were released today.
