OM’s Snyder fine after being hit by pitch

During Saturday’s 4-3 Ole Miss victory in 13 innings, Rebel designated hitter Matt Snyder was hit in the side of the head by a wild pitch from Alex McRee and was taken to the hospital. Following the game, Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said Snyder’s CAT scan came back negative and that he expected the sophomore to be OK. (April 12, 2010, Page 1B)

Rebels hold on for 4-1 victory at Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. — On the heels of being named Baseball America‘s Midseason Player of the Year, Ole Miss ace Drew Pomeranz didn’t disappoint.

The junior left-hander pitched yet another masterful game, leading Ole Miss to a 4-1 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs at Foley Field tonight.

Rebels top Tennessee 7-3

Gator Chomped: Sunday woes continue for Rebels

And the streak continues. In short, Sundays have been unkind to the Ole Miss Rebels baseball squad. For the fourth Sunday in a row, the No. 17 Rebels have been unable to not only piece together timely hits but also find pitching that gives them a chance to take the game.

Rebels stay hot at the plate in win over SLU

Even without sluggers Matt Smith and Matt Snyder, the No. 17 Ole Miss baseball team was able to score double-digit runs for the second-straight night on Wednesday, knocking off the Saint Louis Billikens 14-5 at Oxford-University Stadium. (March 25, 2010, Page 6)

Rebels overcome errors in win, again

One night after Ole Miss committed a season-high four errors, the fielding didn’t exactly improve. But once again, the No. 18 Rebels were able to overcome two errors to defeat the Austin Peay Governors 10-4 to sweep the two-game midweek series at Oxford-University Stadium. (March 11, 2010, Page 6A)

Through the first 11 games of the season, the Ole Miss baseball team had committed only six errors and boasted a Southeastern Conference-best .985 fielding percentage.
