Covered walkway declined for hotel

The Oxford Board of Aldermen denied a request from the contractor for the new 32-bed boutique hotel, The Chancellor’s House to build a covered pedestrian walkway on a portion of northbound lane on South Lamar. (September 4, 2014, Page 2)

Planning commission approves hotel

The site plan for the Chancellor’s House hotel on the corner of South Lamar and University Avenue was approved by the Oxford Planning Commission Monday. Also approved was the site plan for The Blake, a new assisted living facility proposed for Oxford Commons development.

Bike lane work to begin this spring

Members of the Oxford Pathways Commission and the city of Oxford Planning Department are making it a priority to announce to residents living along the roads slated to get new bike paths this year when and where the construction will begin in their neighborhood.
