Grey leads LHS baseball past Byhalia
Lafayette senior pitcher Cody Grey punctuated his standout season with a shutout over Byhalia on Tuesday night.

Lafayette baseball rolls Center Hill
Lafayette’s potent lineup led the Commodores to two one-sided wins over Center Hill and New Albany over the weekend. The Commodores defeated Center Hill 13-2 on Friday night to remain perfect (6-0) in Region 2-4A play, while the ‘Dores smacked around the Bulldogs for the second time this year in a 14-9 win at New Albany. Commodores extend winning streak to 10
Scoring a bunch of runs in two one-sided wins over Tunica-Rosa Fort on Tuesday at W.V. Brewer Field wasn’t the main thing on Lafayette baseball coach Greg Lewis’ mind. Although he was happy knowing that his team improved to 4-0 in the division with 15-0 and 19-0 wins over the Lions in a doubleheader, it was how his team has come together since the start of the year that Lewis was more pleased with. Lafayette powers its way past Tigers

‘Dores drop two games in Pontotoc
Two early season tests ended up being valuable learning experiences for the Lafayette Commodores Thursday night in the Pontotoc Tournament.
Less than a week after LHS got its 2011 season off to a great start with two wins against Saltillo and Nettleton, the Commodores suffered their first setbacks of the season with a 7-3 loss to Mooreville and a 12-11 loss to Belmont. (more…) (March 4, 2011, Page 6A)
Amory eliminates LHS from 4A playoffs
As Amory second baseman Ryan Hill fielded a chopper cleanly off the bat of Lafayette pinch hitter Dylan Gossett and tossed it to first, the Commodores’ special season came to a disappointing end.
The Commodores were unable to overcome an early deficit on Monday, falling at Amory 5-1 in Game 3 of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs.
