A heartbreaking one-run loss to Senatobia last Friday night is something the Lafayette Lady Commodores didn’t allow to linger on Tuesday against the Water Valley Blue Devils. Instead of playing flat and unfocused, LHS was able to overcome the setback with a 6-3 home win over the Lady Blue Devils to sweep the season series.

A day after LHS defeated Senatobia to win its first district match of the season, the team turned around Tuesday and recorded another important district win over WVHS. LHS topped Senatobia 3-0 on Monday and then handled Water Valley with the use of a solid service game and aggressive kill shots.

A nine-run fifth inning put the finishing touches on a one-sided win for the Lafayette Lady Commodore softball team Saturday at Center Hill. The Lady Commodores beat their region foe 16-1 by scoring 12 runs in the fourth and fifth innings combined. Stormy Robison earned the win for LHS, while Kendall Glass, Corey Hollis, Kelsey Kesler and Katrina Wilson all had multiple hits. Wilson had a double, while Hollis had a triple.
