Playing in a tournament hosted at Tupelo Monday, the Oxford boys and girls basketball teams swept Okolona. The Lady Chargers improved to 2-0 with a 95-10 win. Oxford High’s Justin Fondren became the most successful high jumper in Chargers history when he won the state championship in May.
Oxford standout high jumper Justin Fondren is headed to Lille, France to compete in the 7th IAAF World Youth Championships next week.
This past weekend at the New Balance Outdoor National Championship was no different, as the Oxford junior out-jumped the best in the country en route to a national title in the high jump with a height of 6-feet, 10-inches. (more…) (June 21, 2011, Page 6)
