Oxford Chargers begin quest to win fifth straight state title
Oxford’s goal to garner a fifth straight state championship in tennis begins today with a home match against Grenada. OHS coach Louis Nash will try to win the 5A title without the services of four seniors who lead the Chargers to a 116-1 record over the last six years, including four state titles and 11 individual championships. The Oxford soccer programs punctuated their seasons on Tuesday with convincing wins over divisional foe West Point.

Chargers fare well in tournament

Chargers pound Clarksdale in 5A opener

Chargers, Lady Chargers open with tourney titles
The Oxford High soccer teams got the 2010-11 season off to a good start by winning the Patriot Classic held at Lewisburg on Saturday.
The Lady Chargers went 3-0 to capture the title, while the Chargers went 2-0-1. Oxford’s girls defeated Lake Cormorant 3-0 in the first game, North Pontotoc 3-0 in the second and then topped Lewisburg 1-0 in the title game. (November 8, 2010, Page 3B)
