‘Dores dominate OHS in Classic
A faster start to the game is what Lafayette football coach Anthony Hart wanted to see from his team against Oxford Friday night in the annual Crosstown Classic. To the delight of Hart and the rest of his coaching staff, the message got through loud and clear.

Oxford’s Dean earns Player of Week honor
A win is what the Oxford Chargers needed to garner last Friday night at Charleston. After losing a tough opener to Grenada on the road, the Chargers could ill afford another setback heading into this week’s Crosstown Classic at Lafayette.
Thanks to an improved effort across the board, and specifically the running of senior Mont Dean, the Chargers were able to defeat Charleston 38-25 to earn that coveted first victory. (more…) (August 30, 2011, Page 8)
LHS dominates Greenwood
GREENWOOD — Prior to the season, Lafayette coach Anthony Hart called Friday night’s matchup with Greenwood a “sandwich” game because it came in between the highly anticipated opener with Tupelo and the annual Crosstown Classic matchup with the Oxford Chargers.
Fortunately for Hart, the only thing that got sandwiched were the Greenwood Bulldogs, who proved to be no real challenge in a 42-0 loss to the Commodores. (more…) (August 29, 2011, Page 1B)
