The trial date for one of three former Ole Miss students charged with killing their friend and neighbor, Zacharias Herculese McClendon, last year was continued until the April court term. It’s expected the other two cases will be continued as well.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department has made three arrests in the shooting death of University of Mississippi graduate student.
According to Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Alan Wilburn the three men were on and off again students at the University of Mississippi and lived next door to the victim, Zacharias Herculese McClendon of Gulfport. Wilburn said the motive was robbery.
Charged with capitol murder are: Steven Matthew Wilbanks, 22, of North Carolina; Derrick Boone, 23 of Laurel and Joseph Lyons, 20, of Houston, Texas.
