Second-half surge key for Lafayette
A strong second half ended up making a huge difference for the Lafayette Commodores Tuesday night in their home match against Senatobia. Facing a 1-0 deficit at the break, the Commodores dug deep the final 40 minutes of play and ended up defeating the Warriors 2-1 to earn their first Division 3-4A contest of the year. Lafayette’s boys knocked off Winona and North Pontotoc this weekend to improve to 4-2 on the year. Friday, the LHS ‘Dores defeated Winona in penalty kicks to earn a 3-2 win. Inspiration is something all athletes need plenty of to be successful at a high level.
