FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Ole Miss fell a win short of making this week’s Southeastern Conference Tournament after being swept at No. 30 Arkansas in two seven inning games on Saturday at Baum Stadium.
AUBURN, Ala. — It wasn’t the Ole Miss Diamond Rebels that made the bulk of the errors on Thursday night. Unfortunately for the visiting Rebels, they didn’t take advantage of Auburn’s three miscues and eventually sputtered their way to a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Tigers at Plainsman Park. Ole Miss’ Austin Wright turned in a solid performance on the mound Sunday and the offense kicked into gear as Rebels shut out Tennessee 8-0 to claim the three-game series. Ole Miss (18-7 overall, 3-3 in the Southeastern Conference) defeated the Volunteers 6-1 on Friday night. Tennessee (18-6, 2-4 SEC) claimed Saturday’s game 6-4. (more…) (March 28, 2011, Page 1B)

The story line for most of the early baseball season has been Ole Miss’ ability to find ways to win and Tuesday was no different as a Zach Kirksey sacrifice fly in the 10th inning lifted the No. 28 Rebels to a 5-4 victory over Austin Peay at Oxford-University Stadium.
Ole Miss trailed for the bulk of the game and after a two-run fourth put the Governors ahead 3-1, Ole Miss remained behind until an RBI-single from freshman Austin Anderson in the eighth inning tied the game 4-4 and eventually sent it into extra innings. (more…) (March 2, 2011, Page 6)
