Lady Chargers win 2 in tourney

Oxford’s girls basketball team had a little easier go of it in its final game of the “O” Town Showdown. After holding off Madison-Ridgeland Academy for a 39-34 win Friday, the Chargers took control early against Marshall Academy and cruised to a 61-33 victory Saturday night at the Oxford High gym. Lady Chargers fall to Olive Branch in Invitational final

For the first time this season, the Oxford High girls basketball team suffered a loss. Olive Branch defeated them 61-34 in the championship game of the Lady Charger Invitational on Monday night in the Oxford High gym. The Lafayette Girls team defeated Houston 53-26 earlier in the day in the finals of the consolation bracket. (November 25, 2014, Page 7)

OHS romps to win in Lady Charger Invitational

Things could not have gone better for the host team in the second annual Lady Charger Invitational as Oxford won its opening game of the tournament against Kipp Academy (Tenn.) 84-3 on Thursday night at the new Oxford High gym. OHS sweeps ‘Dores in season finale

The Oxford High volleyball team hosted crosstown rival Lafayette for the regular-season finale for both teams Thursday inside the Oxford Middle School gym. The Chargers sent their fans home happy as they swept the season series with a 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-16) victory over the Commodores. (October 17, 2014, Page 6A)

OHS sweeps Clarksdale for first region win

Oxford volleyball coach Tara Ross wants her team to forget what’s happened the first half of the season and treat the second half as an entirely different season all together. It got off to a good start Tuesday night. The Chargers quickly took control of their match against Clarksdale and cruised to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-11) win at the new Oxford High gymnasium. (September 17, 2014, Page 6)

Oxford notches 3-0 win over Commodores

The Oxford and Lafayette High volleyball teams reignited the Crosstown Rivalry for the first time this school year inside the Lafayette High gym Tuesday. The Chargers got the better of Lafayette in this installment with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-21) victory. (August 27, 2014, Page 6)

Oxford erases early deficit to down Senatobia

The night started off a little slow for the Oxford Chargers volleyball team in its match against the Senatobia Warriors Tuesday. It looked like the visitors might leave town victorious, but the Lady Chargers regrouped and beat the defending Class I North Half champions 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-6). (August 20, 2014, Page 6A)

Oxford volleyball opens new gym with win

Oxford High School’s volleyball season officially began Tuesday as the Lady Chargers hosted South Panola for their opening match of the season.  The Lady Chargers made short work of the Lady Tigers, who were playing volleyball for the first time in school history, winning 3-0 (25-5, 25-8, 25-7) in a match that took less than an hour to complete inside the newly built Oxford High gym. (August 13, 2014, Page 6A)
