WVHS preparing for tough series against Booneville

If everything pans out as many think, then this week’s Class 3A North Half baseball championship series between the Water Valley Blue Devils and Booneville should be a good one.

The two evenly matched teams will square off against one another starting Thursday at 6 p.m. in Booneville. The winner of the best-of-three series will then represent the North in the MHSAA’s 3A title series against either perennial power Sumrall or Forest, who will battle for the South Half title on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (May 12, 2010, Page 8)

Lafayette girls’ game Monday was a classic

AROUND THE SQUARE AND BEYOND — Among this week’s topics, the LHS girls-New Albany North Half Finals showdown was one of the ages, NAHS head coach and former Ole Miss great John Stroud deserves to have his number retired by the University and former area high school baseball players are beginning to suit up for Northwest C.C. (February 24, 2010, Page 8)
