OHS freshmen down ‘Dores in crosstown game

It didn’t count, but it was still Oxford against Lafayette. An exhibition game between the school’s upcoming freshman football teams was held Monday night at Bobby Holcomb to cap spring drills for both squads as part of a three-team scrimmage with Saltillo. Both teams whet their respective appetites with victories over the Tigers before squaring off in the main event of the night. Oxford won 14-8 in a game that consisted of two halves of unspecified time rather than the regular four-quarter format. (May 5, 2015, Page 6)
