‘Put your hands on the radio’

One of the special things about Oxford is Thacker Mountain Radio Hour, a Thursday evening event that draws authors, musicians and others to Oxford as well as publicity. We applaud the hard work of TMR’s staff in developing the show through the years. (October 1, 2014, Page 4A)

A Hill Country Picnic Retrospective

OXFORD TOWN  – The tunes and weather were smoking hot — but the libations and patrons were totally cool last weekend at the Hill Coutry Picnic in Marshall County. Oxford Town contributing photographer Mike Stanton braved both to help, once again, archive one of Mississippi’s favorite festivals. Turn to Page 7 in Oxford Town No. 987  to check out some of Stanton’s great shots from Saturday night’s picnic jam (Picnic MC and Oxford Town Columnist Jim Dees pictured here). NMHCP gets bigger and better every year and next year promises to be yet another hoedown blast. We think we speak for everyone when we say “Keep ’em coming” and kudos to picnic organizers for a great weekend.
