WATER VALLEY — Friday night was a satisfying night for the Water Valley football team on multiple levels.
Not only did the Blue Devils advance to the third round of the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs with a 23-14 victory at Bobby Clark Field, but they also exorcised some demons by eliminating the same Winona Tigers that ended their 2010 season. (November 14, 2011, Page 3B)

Coming off of the biggest regular season victory in 11 years, the Water Valley football team buckled down and emphasized remaining focused during this week’s practices leading up to Friday’s regular season finale at Mantachie.

Ever since Brad Embry arrived from Tupelo to lead the Blue Devils, the goals and achievements have been steadily building at a school and program that was desperately yearning for the success of teams of the past.
