Rebels overcome early woes, down VU
The first half of Sunday’s game between the Ole Miss women and Vanderbilt had all the makings of a letdown reminiscent of the Lady Rebels’ lopsided loss to Miami (Fla.) in mid-December, where 29 turnovers led to 33 points for the Lady Canes.
On Sunday, 14 turnovers led to 15 points for Vanderbilt and by halftime, the Lady Rebels trailed by 16 points.
Following a spirited halftime speech by head coach Renee Ladner, however, the Lady Rebels flipped the switch and an 11-4 run eventually led to a 72-67 victory for Ole Miss in its Southeastern Conference opener at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. (January 3, 2011, Page 7)
