Square parkers may get more time

The Oxford Downtown Parking Commission voted Friday to recommend to the Oxford Board of Aldermen to extend the two-hour parking limit on the Square to three hours. (May 6, 2013, Page 1A)

Parking commission approves changes

During its regular meeting Friday, the commission agreed on ordinance changes to the current laws that increase the two-hour parking restrictions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. As the Oxford Board of Aldermen consider implementing a tougher parking enforcement program and hiring a parking management company, habitual overtime parking offenders could notice something is missing during their next trip to the Square — their car.
