Some were answered.
Some verdicts are yet to be determined. (more…) (September 12, 2011, Page 1B)

Told ya so
OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Town Sports Columnist Steven Godfrey is disgusted. Frankly, we’re all entitled to be a little disappointed but he actually called it last week. He’s got a list of folks who are in need of firing in a bad way after last week’s Rebel home opener bust against BYU. SPOILER ALERT — No one is bulletproof. He’s even got Jack Black included in his list. Check out Page 10 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town to see who else is outta here in Godfrey land. (September 8, 2011, Page 10)
Rebel offense having to cope without RBs
For at least a couple of days, Ole Miss’ quarterback battle has taken a back seat thanks to the Rebels getting a little roughed up by Brigham Young.
Against the Cougars, Ole Miss’ depth at running back took a significant hit when All-Southeastern Conference senior Brandon Bolden and fellow veteran Enrique Davis went down with leg injuries.
During his weekly press conference Monday, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt addressed both injuries. (September 6, 2011, Page 6)
Fumble, late score doom Rebs in opener
The line between winning and losing in college football is extremely fine. For the Ole Miss Rebels, a team that was looking to get off to a good start following a disappointing 4-8 season in 2010, Saturday’s season opening 14-13 loss to BYU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium boiled down to just a few plays that prevented them from earning a much-needed victory.
Mistakes cost the Rebels in last year’s season-opening loss to Jacksonville State and it was miscues at the most critical points of the game that hurt them again this year. (more…) (September 5, 2011, Page 1B)
JUCO transfer more than just a return man
Ole Miss’ return game has experienced some turnover since the last time the Rebels took the field.
Gone is Jesse Grandy, who transferred to Central Arkansas after averaging 14.7 yards per punt return and 20.9 per kick return as a sophomore. (more…) (August 26, 2011, Page 7A)
Rebels have talent, depth at RB
It’s probably fair to say Ole Miss fans are hoping for a different 2011 on the gridiron.
One area that will need to remain the same if the Rebels are going to improve on their 4-8 season from a year ago, is their rushing attack.
Ole Miss ranked third in the Southeastern Conference in rushing offense, averaging 207.6 yards per game, and returns its top three running backs in All-SEC candidate Brandon Bolden, fellow senior Enrique Davis and sophomore Jeff Scott. (more…) (August 17, 2011, Page 6)
Rebs have quick practice on Day 2
BLOG: Ole Miss practiced for just over 90 minutes today because of a heat index of around 110 degrees. (more…) (August 7, 2011)
Back at full-strength: Thomas hoping to make impact in ’11
The past four years have been one big learning experience for Ole Miss running back Devin Thomas.
As a senior, Thomas looked like he was on the fast track to doing big things on the gridiron. (more…) (April 11, 2011, Page 4B)
Rebels continue to show mixed results
Heading into the second scrimmage of the spring on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt wanted to see his team show more consistency on both sides of the ball. His hope was his wide receivers would catch throws from the quarterbacks better, the running game would be even more physical and the defense would do an even better job of flying to the football.
Nutt was able to see his offensive line open more holes for the likes of Enrique Davis and Devin Thomas to gain big chunks of yardage, and while the receivers as a group made some plays, the overall performance was still inconsistent for Nutt’s liking. (April 11, 2011, Page 2B)
