Report: RB Mathers to transfer from Ole Miss

Ole Miss’ crowded backfield is starting to thin out. Junior running back I’Tavius Mathers is leaving the program, according to the Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Daily News Journal. Mathers, a Murfreesboro native, didn’t elaborate on his decision to his hometown newspaper. (January 11, 2015, Page 1B)

NOTEBOOK: Wunderlich to handle kicking duties at A&M

This week against No. 14 Texas A&M, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze will rely on true freshman Gary Wunderlich to bring some stability to special teams inside the hostile environment of Kyle Field Saturday night as he’ll kick field goals and extra points for the Rebels. (October 9, 2014, Page 7A)

Sluggish start ends with energy for Rebs

As has been the case for much of the spring, Hugh Freeze saw some areas he was encouraged by and others that were disappointing during Wednesday’s practice at the Indoor Practice Facility.

With only a handful of practices remaining in the spring season, culminating in the annual Grove Bowl on April 13, the Rebels are still searching for consistency from day to day.
