Oxford avoids trap, tops Warriors
SENATOBIA— Coming off of an emotional win last week, it would have been understandable if the Oxford Chargers played flat Friday at Senatobia.
With the exception of a few hiccups on defense, that wasn’t the case as the Chargers never trailed during their 34-14 victory over the Warriors. (September 10, 2012, Page 3B)

Oxford makes timely plays to top Tigers
Big plays turned in on offense and defense made the difference again for the Oxford Chargers on Friday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. A week after defeating Class 6A Grenada at home, the Chargers topped Charleston 21-18 to improve to 2-0 on the year.
Oxford never trailed in the contest as it jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Charleston, which won last year’s MHSAA Class 3A state title and 15 consecutive games prior to Friday’s setback, made things interesting in the second half before Oxford’s offense, defense and special teams rose up to secure the victory. QB Adamson leads Oxford past Grenada
Oxford High School quarterback Parker Adamson didn’t get off to an ideal start in Friday’s season opener against Grenada at Bobby Holcomb Field, throwing interceptions on two of his team’s first three possessions with one of them getting returned for a touchdown.
Adamson and his teammates didn’t let the slow start and 12-0 first-period deficit shake them, however, as they rallied to post a 28-22 victory in the battle of Charger lineups. Adamson finished the night passing for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help his team gain a measure of revenge for last year’s loss at Grenada. (August 20, 2012, Page 1B)
Oxford on the mark vs. Raiders
Jamborees are typically meant for teams to see what they have and to then work out the kinks without the pressure of mistakes showing up in the win-loss column.
Friday, the Oxford Chargers opened the Oxford-Ole Miss jamboree at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in impressive fashion with a 17-0 victory over Shannon. (August 13, 2012, Page 7)
