Defensive effort keeps Oxford perfect

There was a point midway through the first half of Friday night’s Region 1-5A game between No. 9 Oxford and Lake Cormorant at Bobby Holcomb Field where LCHS head coach Nick Nester threw up his hands in confusion, disgust or both. When an opposing team holds another to negative yards on offense in a half, it can make even the most even tempered of coaches feel desperate and frustrated all at the same time. It’s beginning to become a bit of a broken record, but Lafayette is positively OK with that.
