Spring has sprung: Gridiron Rebels begin practice
Had it been anyone else who was late to practice, he may have had to run laps or stadiums as punishment. Nutt focused on football, not emotions of return to Ark.
Apparently Houston Nutt used to coach at Arkansas.
During Monday’s regularly scheduled press conference at the Indoor Practice Facility, Nutt brushed off a question regarding his trip back to Arkansas, where he coached for 10 seasons.
Asked if he felt there were still emotions surrounding his pending trip back to Fayetteville, Ark., Nutt said: “I think it has died down a little bit. I am sure there is a few people that still want to see Houston Nutt beat. The thing I am more concerned about is being focused on the task at hand. (October 19, 2010, Page 8)
OM’s Shackelford, Neat suffer minor injuries Tuesday
Preparations for Saturday’s home game against Fresno State resumed Tuesday for the Ole Miss Rebels, who ending up losing two impact players during the session.
Sophomore linebacker D.T. Shackelford suffered a sprained ankle during Tuesday’s practice, while freshman running back/wide receiver Korvic Neat suffered a strained hamstring. (September 22, 2010, Page 6)
More focus needed for Rebels to make a turnaround
Focus and leaning on a few seniors are two of the many ways Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt was planning on turning around the Rebels’ fortunes Saturday night when they host Fresno State at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
A 1-2 start to the season, against teams that are not the best on the Rebels’ schedule, is not what Nutt and his staff anticipated in preseason.
But instead of dwelling on the slow start and feeling sorry about where the team is, Nutt said the only medicine is to get back to work and ultimately earn a win. (September 21, 2010, Page 6)

Sanders makes first appearance at practice
With the season opener against Jacksonville State a little less than a month away, the Ole Miss football team has wasted no time hitting the practice field and slowly but surely the Rebels are getting their newcomers onto the field. The latest addition was freshman receiver Vincent Sanders.

Rebels add 22 on National Signing Day
OLE MISS FOOTBALL — A strong final push turned into an outstanding National Signing Day for the Ole Miss football program and Houston Nutt Wednesday. Ole Miss was able to sign some important players for the 2010 class and, in the process, vault up the national recruiting rankings.
