The Lady Commodores left little doubt on their end who deserves to be in the upcoming MHSAA Class 4A playoffs.

ECRU — The Lafayette girls basketball team’s gameplan against North Pontotoc’s 6-foot-3 center Chelsea Mabry worked well in Friday’s District 2-4A Division Tournament championship game at North Pontotoc gym.
Amongst double teams most of the game, Mabry managed to put up 11 points on the night, but it was her teammates who ultimately secured a 56-49 win for the No. 1 seed Lady Vikings over the No. 3 seed Lady ‘Dores.
ECRU — New Albany’s spell over the Lafayette Lady Commodores finally came to an end. It wasn’t easy, but the Lady Commodores weathered a 43-point performance from New Albany’s Jazmine Spears to post a thrilling 61-60 win over the Lady Bulldogs Thursday in the Division 2-4A Tournament.
The victory not only improved the Lady Commodores to 12-10 overall, but advanced them to tonight’s 2-4A title game against host North Pontotoc and earned them a home game in the first round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs Monday night.
