Oxford Music Fest 2012 spotlight continues

OXFORD TOWN – The photo shown here caught one of Oxford’s favorite musicians, Tate Moore, jamming at a 2011 Thacker Mountain Radio Broadcast  and we’re glad we have it in our archives because Moore takes the spotlight on Page 9 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town as we  conclude our sneak peek at the Oxford Music Festival set to reload Feb. 9. This week’s spotlight includes bands and acts for Feb. 11 and 12 at Proud Larry’s, the Lyric Theater and Malco Studio Cinema. Check it out on Pages 9 and 10 in this week’s OT and go ahead and mark your calendars. (January 26, 2012, Page 9, 10)

Rocket 88 to get ‘happy’ at Proud Larry’s

OXFORD TOWN – Even though the gigs are a couple of weeks away, Oxford Town deems Rocket 88 cover-worthy (but maybe just a little too early for print) for its upcoming Happy Hour shows on the Oxford Square. Arguably Oxford’s favorite Americana, rock, blues, country gospel (you-name-it) band, Jamie and Rosamond Posey and Rocket 88 are set for two Happy Hour shows at Proud Larry’s — Thursday, July 21 and Thursday, July 28 — and here’s an additional OT cover designed to pump it up. Page 5 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has more information about the upcoming shows. (July 7, 2011, Page 5)

A Hill Country Picnic Retrospective

OXFORD TOWN – It wasn’t exactly the “Summer of Love,” but it was close. The 2011 North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic went off without a hitch last weekend and we have the photos and coverage to prove it. Page 9 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town will give you a peek at some of the action at one of the hottest (literally and figuratively) festivals in the state and the manner in which our local musicians anchored it throughout the weekend  — serving up tons of blues, country, rock, gospel and Americana music. Download or pick up an issue and check it out. And, be sure to mark your calendar now for the last week in June, 2012 for the next version of the Hill Country Picnic. (June 30, 2011, Page 9)

Oxford’s Rosamond Posey balances law and music

OXFORD TOWN – Local attorney and musician Rosamond Posey and The Posey Family Band will be rocking at Proud Larry’s on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 for the next two weeks where crawfish and rock ‘n’ roll will rule the night. Business suits, cowboy boots and center stages – Posey is, without a doubt, one of the hardest working (and playing) women in Oxford. See Page 9 of Oxford Town this week and read how the multi-talented lawyer pulls off the ultimate juggling act. (March 25, 2010, Page 9)
