Oxford teams win Region 1-5A titles

Region 1-5A track titles were awarded to both the Oxford Chargers and Lady Chargers Monday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. OHS dominates EAGLE Invitational

Oxford’s track teams opened the 2013 season with a bang as both squads won Saturday’s Oxford EAGLE Invitational meet held at Bobby Holcomb Field. The Chargers more than doubled up second-place finisher West Bolivar (220-98) to win first place, while the Lady Chargers finished with 157 points, 25 more than second-place finisher Independence. Unified Chargers write perfect ending

COLUMN: CLINTON — Oxford’s historic run through the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs wasn’t supposed to happen. The Chargers, the team up north that every other program forgets about, couldn’t win the title, could they?
