Chargers stay tough, take Classic

Oxford baseball coach Chris Baughman held a meeting with his team Wednesday about facing adversity and staying mentally tough.

Jackets swarm Chargers in second round

Motivated by what Starkville head coach Brian Bennett described as a less than desired performance in their regular-season matchup with Oxford, the visiting Jackets played an aggressive breed of soccer that netted them a 4-2 road victory and a trip to the third round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Pressure leads Oxford to second round

Heading into Tuesday night’s annual postseason showdown with Callaway, the Oxford Chargers coaches knew a couple of things: The visiting Chargers were going to be athletic, fast, and able to capitalize on any chances they were provided.
