Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt and his staff got National Signing Day off to a great start today as they received letters of intent from 18 players. Leading the list of standout players from Mississippi were South Panola wide receiver Nickolas Brassell (6-foot-1, 175 pounds, 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash), Philadelphia linebacker C.J. Ranger WR White commits to La. Tech
The goal for Northwest Mississippi Community College wide receiver Myles White was to continue his college playing career in the South. Thanks to a stellar season with the Rangers that saw the Detroit native catch 53 passes for 712 yards and six touchdowns, White garnered offers from the likes of Louisiana Tech and Troy, as well as interest from Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound White, who started his career at Michigan State, visited Ruston, La., over the weekend and ultimately decided that becoming a Bulldog and playing under the direction of coach Sonny Dykes was too good to pass up. (November 24, 2010, Page 6A)

No. 5 Rangers claim share of North Division title
A 31-point outburst that stretched from the midway point of the second half to the midway point of the fourth quarter propelled the No. 5 Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers to a 38-13 win over Holmes Thursday night.
The win kept the Rangers undefeated on the season (8-0) but it also earned them at least a share of the MACJC North Division title. NWCC, which is 5-0 in the North Division, will finish up the season at home Thursday against Itwabama and a win over the Indians would give them the title outright. (October 22, 2010, Page 7A)
Rangers’ D paces team in latest win
Another strong defensive effort proved to be the difference in a win for the No. 7 Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers on Thursday night at Bobby Franklin Field.
NWCC defeated Southwest 24-7 thanks in large part to a Ranger defense that held the Bears to under 200 total yards and out of the end zone until the game had been decided. It was the third straight game the Rangers (6-0 overall) held an opponent to a touchdown or less and under 200 yards. (October 8, 2010, Page 6A)
Rangers get defensive in win over Tigers
A stranglehold on the MACJC North Division standings is what the No. 9 Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers secured Thursday night with a 26-6 win over Northeast.
The Rangers (5-0 overall, 3-0 in the North) battered the Tigers (3-2, 2-1) from start to finish by forcing six turnovers and holding them to just 117 total yards. NWCC, which has now won five straight in the series, is now plus 10 in the turnover column and only allowed 32 points in three games to North Division teams. (October 1, 2010, Page 6A)
NWCC Rangers tangle with NECC Tigers tonight
A firm grip on the MACJC North Division race is what the No. 9 Northwest Mississippi Rangers will try to accomplish tonight with a win at rival Northeast.
The Rangers (4-0 overall, 2-0 in North Division) and Tigers (3-1, 2-0) will meet at 7 in Booneville. The game can be heard locally on 93.7 FM with Ronnie Williams calling the play-by-play and Keith Patterson adding the color analysis. (September 30, 2010, Page 8)
